LAUNDRY ROOM REFRESH: HOW TO DECORATE & COMPLETE A SMALL LAUNDRY SPACE

I’m so excited to reveal my mini laundry room refresh!  I love how everything came together with just a few key pieces. Here’s all the details and some helpful tips/ideas on how you can give your small laundry area a refresh too.

Living in a condo with very limited space means you have to make the most of every square inch. My laundry space is tucked into a small closet and the idea of having a fancy and functional space seems nothing but a dream. I took on the challenge to find the perfect pieces.  Thanks to the new LG WashTower™ I can now enjoy a full-sized capacity unit in my small compact space.  It’s half the footprint of a traditional side-by-side laundry unit, but has all the full-sized features and much more, including smart technology to simplify my laundry process!

I love how sleek and modern the design is with the black steel finish and chrome rim accents. It matches so well with my décor!  I also love that the Centre Control™ panel is placed conveniently in the middle of the stacked set for easy access.  No more reaching high to control all my buttons!

On top of aesthetics, this unit has built-in Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive™ (AIDD) technology that uses sensors to detect fabric softness and load size, and customizes the right wash motions and cycle time for the best results. My laundry process has become a whole lot simpler not having to sort or choose my laundry cycles.

I can also control my washing machine with the LG ThinQ® mobile app on my smart phone.  I like using the app to save all my preferred and customizable cycle settings and to monitor my energy consumption.

The LG WashTower™ gets everything done more quickly and efficiently, (it’s also ENERGY STAR® certified). The unit really is the showstopper of my reveal and has changed my laundry game immensely!

Onto the décor and laundry necessities…

As you can see in my ‘Before’ photo, my laundry closet was pretty basic. I wanted to add pieces to make my new space cozier and less cold.  I first found a shaggy accent rug to achieve a soft standing zone.

I added matching folding baskets that can be easily stored by tucking them in at the sides of the closet when not being used, and I used the smaller basket for all my laundry products.

TIP:  I like to purchase my powder or liquid detergent in bulk and transfer smaller amounts from the large box/jar to a more convenient and stylish dispenser to use on a daily basis.  The large box/jar gets stored away in the utility closet until it’s time to get refilled.

A great way to maximize space is to add vertical storage behind your door. I added hooks and hung a folding drying rack that can be tucked away when the door is closed.

Lastly, I found the cutest laundry door sign to tie everything together.  Instead of hanging it on the outside, I decide to add some white panelling at the top on the inside to make the laundry unit look more built-in and this also helped with making the lettering pop.  If I choose to close the door, the sign will be hidden and have a clean look from the outside.

Even a small laundry space can benefit from a refresh.  All the attention and little details makes a noticeable difference.  Laundry days will be done a lot quicker and will be much more enjoyable.  I hope this inspires you to give your laundry room a new look!
