How do you all spend Easter? Every year I head back to my hometown to spend time with my family. And by sending time, I mean eating, eating and more eating! I probably gain five pounds just from spending a whole weekend with them. It’s pretty bad. lol! For Easter dinner we do the full sha-bang; turkey, ham and all the yummy sides, but we are super informal when it comes to the dining part. We do buffet style, grab your paper plates and go to town! Even our seating arrangement is informal with a bunch of cheap portable fold-up tables from Walmart. With everything being so relaxed, I wanted to pick an outfit more on the casual side but still fun, since I do love dressing up. This violet dress is so perfect for this occasion and for any family setting really. The fabric is a sweatshirt material, which makes it comfy and the ruffles are subtle, so very casual and not over the top. It also looks great with skinny jeans underneath and if you want to dress it up, grab a pair of block heeled sandals. If not, they pair great with white sneakers. Get the look below…
This is my first year DIY-ing Easter eggs! Can you believe that? I couldn’t decide which way to go in terms of style. My favourite colours are pink and gold, so I went with that and decided to just do a little bit of everything; I dyed some eggs pink, I glittered some gold and I also took a pink sharpie and added some patterns to a few. Pretty basic! The little kid in me came out as I was decorating and had a blast with them. There are so many great ideas on decorating Easter eggs on the web, so for today’s post I want to do something different and share with you my 5 favourite DIY Easter eggs. I absolutely love how creative each of these are. Go check out their blogs and show them some love!
