DIY EASTER CRACKERS

Easter isn’t complete without a few Easter treats, right? 😃

I wanted to come up with a unique way to share my chocolates. I always love opening Christmas crackers, so I thought why not make Easter themed crackers by using colourful pastel paper and my favourite foil mini eggs from Purdys Chocolatier! FYI: Purdys Easter Collection is now available in-store and online! Their chocolate is honestly the best, (made with sustainable cocoa) and their holiday collections are always spot-on! 🐣

The Easter crackers were super easy to make and kid-friendly too. Here’s how to make them:

You will need…

  • Purdys Chocolate foiled mini eggs
  • Colourful wrapping paper (I found mine at Winners)
  • Snap popper strips (Mine are from Etsy. You could also learn how to make them here)
  • Paper towel rolls
  • Ribbon
  • Double sided tape
  • Scissors

Directions

  1. Cut your wrapping paper into a rectangular shape, measuring 8 X 12 inches. Tape a snap popper strip to the middle of the paper.

2) Cut your paper towel roll in half, then cut one half of the roll into another half, making three pieces. The longer piece goes in the middle. The smaller ones on the sides. (The smaller ones are just used to help mold the ends and will be taken out later)

3) Roll the paper around the paper towel rolls tightly and secure with double sided tape or a glue stick

4) On one side, pinch the paper in between the paper towel rolls and secure with a ribbon. Tie a bow or knot tightly!

5) Fill the cracker with chocolates of your choice through the open side

6) Repeat step 4 to finish making the cracker

7) Remove the smaller paper towel rolls on each end

And there you have it; a super easy and quick Easter Cracker to gift! I think these would be great as part of your Easter table setting or a fun way for your kids to gift to their friends at school. Hope you enjoyed this post. Have a wonderful Easter holiday! 🐰
