TRANSFORM YOUR FRIDGE WITH THESE ORGANIZATION TIPS

Do you have a fridge that’s long over-due for a solid deep cleaning and organization? I certainly did and since the popular Organization Sale is happening now at Kitchen Stuff Plus, I thought it was the perfect time to tackle it!  Having an organized fridge can truly impact your day-to-day life. It can help reinforce healthier eating habits, save on your grocery budget, cut down on household food waste, and much more.  Here are some tips to help you transform your fridge into a well-organized and functional one for your lifestyle.

Make a Plan

Before you start organizing your fridge, it’s important to have a plan in place. Think about what type of organizers you will need to store your items and how you want to arrange them to maximize your space. Before purchasing your organizers, make sure to always double check measurements so that they all fit.  Once you have all your organizers, you may want to play around with the layout by rearranging shelves and the organizers to see what works best.

Declutter First

Decluttering and deep cleaning your fridge is an important part of organizing it. Start by taking everything out of your fridge and sorting through it. Get rid of any expired food, items you don’t need, and anything else that is taking up unnecessary space. Once you’ve decluttered, it’s time to deep clean. Start by wiping down the shelves and drawers with a damp cloth. Then, use a mild soap and warm water to clean the inside and outside of your fridge.

Time to Organize

It’s time to start organizing and storing food properly. First start by grouping like items together then organizing them into bins. Using bins helps to make your fridge more efficient by maximizing the space and providing easy access to the items you need. It also prevents food waste by being able to see all the food items in one glance.

I love the KSP Fridgestor line.  They are made with durable BPA-free plastic, and all the bins are stackable to save space.  Most importantly, I love that the line carries a variety of sizes to choose from at an affordable price. Right now, Kitchen Stuff Plus is having a BOGO sale, buy one – get one for 50% off!!! Even more motivation to conquer your fridge!

For vegetables, fruits, and meat, I like using the Fridgestor Handy storage bins because of their built-in grippy handle. It makes it easier to grab and remove, especially for top and bottom shelves where it’s harder to reach.

For berries I like using the KSP Fridgestor Double Basket Berry Keeper to keep my berries lasting longer. You can wash and dry your favourite berries within the built-in strainer, and keep them protected and staying fresh in your fridge.

The KSP Fridgestor Turntable is a definite must-have in your fridge.  The rotating design is great to keep items within reach. With one convenient turn, you can access all the rear compartments!

Avoid soggy cardboard packaging that stores odours by using the KSP Fridgestor Egg Holder.  With the holder you can store your eggs neatly and securely, and will be easy to wipe clean when you restock again.

For everything else I recommend the Fridgestor Deep Bins to help organize, clean and save space. They come in four different sizes and have built-in handles.  They are also stackable and great for keeping uncut fruits and veggies fresher longer.

Lastly, I recommend labelling your organizers so you know when your food is expiring. I like to write it on the back of the bins to keep the visuals clean in the front.  The Joie Glass Markers are a great inexpensive investment that you’ll really get a lot of use.

Organizing your fridge can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. With the right plan and tips, you can achieve #fridgegoals! 😄 So, what are you waiting for? Trust me, it’ll feel amazing when it’s complete!
